Maintenance Worker - Fairfield Inn Bend/Towneplace Suites Bend
Reports To: Chief Engineer
Position Summary: Maintains property appearance, equipment, mechanical pumps, electrical, hotel plumbing, HVAC systems and completes detailed assignments given by supervisor.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
· Ensures a positive “Guest First” attitude among associates that projects a friendly guest atmosphere for all guests.
· Completes work orders/repairs assigned during shifts and logs/files reports in a timely manner.
· Ensures proper installation, repair and maintenance of all electrical, plumbing, guest room locks, phones, computers and HVAC equipment and properly logs all actions taken.
· Ensures maintenance and repairs of interior/exterior of hotel property to include meeting room, fitness room, pool room, kitchen, lobby, storage areas, mechanical rooms, public restrooms, corridors, guest rooms and department offices.
· Maintains a quarterly preventative maintenance program for the upkeep of all guest rooms and other public areas and properly logs completed assignments.
· Maintains exterior hotel area (building, landscaping, parking lot, snow removal)
· Physical requirements: be able to move heavy and or large objects on a regular basis.
· Ensures good safety practices and habits.
· Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or senior management.
Qualification Standards
(Necessary skills, degrees, certification required for core job function.)
Essential:
1. Some background knowledge in machinery repair and maintenance
2. Basic mathematical knowledge to compute arithmetic problems
3. Ability to determine what tools are necessary to complete a job
4. Use clear logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of current operations and determining solutions to improve those operations if necessary
5. Ability to see details at close range
6. Ability to clearly communicate in English
7. Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
8. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
Desired:
1. Ability to communicate in secondary language.
2. Previous experience in maintenance or repairs.
